N4CSGA Post Hurricane Helene Statement:
To those affected by Hurricane Helene in our state,
We, the North Carolina Comprehensive Community College Student Government Association (N4CSGA), have seen the devastating impacts that Hurricane Helene has had on our community. Whether it be through social media posts or first hand experiences, we have seen what disaster can do to our homes. We extend our condolences to those who have been affected by this tragedy. The damage that has occurred is irreversible, and we hope to find meaningful ways to help during this time. If you have been affected by this storm and would like to inform the N4CSGA of ways that would have the most positive impact, please reach out to us at n4csga@gmail.com.
While we work to research ways to best help those affected we encourage at this time if you are able, to make a monetary donation to the North Carolina Community College System Hurricane Helene Community College Response and Recovery Fund. These funds will help the 14 community colleges, students, and employees who have been affected by this storm. If you would like to donate to a specific college here is a list of the schools affected and ways to donate Hurricane Helene - Make a Donation - NC Community Colleges - Google Sheets. We know that some of you have asked how you can help with getting supplies to those in need. We are currently working to put together a service project and partner together with an organization that our SGA’s can bring and donate supplies to during our fall conference. In the meantime while we gather information, and get it out to our SGA’s we encourage you to also work with your local organizations that are providing relief efforts. We know when we UNITE together as a community we truly can help those in need, and our commUNITY colleges that are affected by this tragedy.
